Hear why Korey, Associate Manager – Services Marketing, has enjoyed #LifeAtPetSmart for 5+ years!

Korey has been a valuable part of our pack for over 5 years. He took some time to share a bit about his #LifeAtPetSmart with us, and we LOVE his story and cute pup, Jada!

Tell us a bit about your PetSmart journey—where did you start, where are you now, and how did you get there?

Korey: I actually started my time at PetSmart on the Marketing litter desk. I had no clue about cat litter or cats themselves. I learned quite a bit and ended up moving to the National Promotions team. From there, I learned about in-store signage and how those signs are written. After that, I moved to the Grand Openings team where I helped launch a few of our newer stores and even attended one myself (PetSmart in Anthem, AZ). Finally, I ended up on the Services Marketing team and have been there ever since.

We want to hear about your pets! Tell us about your pup!

Korey: Jada is the best thing to happen to us since moving into our house two years ago. She’s my first pet ever and I couldn’t be happier that we adopted her. I held out for so long, but a coworker of mine sent her adoption page to me one day at work. My wife always wanted a King Charles Cavalier, and although she is not one, I fell in love with her immediately. We went to see her the next day and she had already interacted with a previous family. She clicked with us immediately and we took her home that day.

What do you enjoy about your #LifeAtPetSmart?

Korey: The people make PetSmart the best place to work at. Everyone is friendly and is willing to help in any way possible. It doesn’t hurt that you can also bring your dog to work every day. You get to a point where you recognize coworkers based on their dog at the dog park.

Any favorite stories or moments from over the years at PetSmart that you’d like to share?

Korey: One of my favorite events I ever took part in was a Diwali celebration on campus. PetSmart is heavily invested in diversity and inclusion. We held a celebration through our MOSAIC Associate Resource Group and had traditional food and dance. I learned a lot about the celebration and even got to take part in the fashion show. It was a very memorable experience for me.
