How do you do Anything for Pets? Do you buy them the fanciest clothes or get them their favorite wet food? How about giving them a forever home from a local adoption center? That is what Katie, our former intern and now Sr Manager, Loyalty, and Personalization Operations, did! She adopted Kona (6m/o) and Moose (2y) from Love Connection Dog Rescue in AZ!
Before Katie graduated with her Bachelor's Degree, she interned as a Mobile Strategy Intern between her junior and senior years. After graduation, she returned to PetSmart and is now a leader of the people. Her internship did Anything for Pets because she was able to directly impact the customer's experience with our mobile application. She "was able to talk to pet parents to understand what they were looking for and what they needed in the app" and help provide solutions to the team to make our mobile experience more enjoyable. Happy pet parents = happy pets! ❤️🐾 When we asked Katie what her favorite part of her internship was, she stated that her "favorite part was getting to network with so many areas of the business. I loved how cross-functional and impactful it was - there was genuinely no busy work. I was a key player on the team, and that felt really special."
She came because of her love of pets and continues to choose PetSmart because of our investment in her growth and development. She feels "seen, heard and accepted every single day." When we asked what advice she has for someone interested in an internship at PetSmart, she mentioned the following:
"No matter what your past experience is, come in and show that you are passionate, curious, and ready to learn. We want interns who are ready to contribute, ready to think outside the box and ready to bring their ideas to the table."
